Over the past few weeks, we’ve continued moving through key site preparation milestones, even as heavy rain moved through Winnipeg. We are now at the stage where the site is getting fully ready for the foundation work ahead.
What We Completed
We’re pleased to share that despite a wet stretch of weather, progress on site hasn’t slowed down:
- Tree removal is complete
- Site excavation is underway
- Heavy rainfall throughout the month has been managed without delay to the schedule
While weather like this can look concerning from the outside, our site team has adapted work schedules to keep things moving. Tree clearing and excavation are essential steps in preparing the site for foundation work. These activities ensure the ground is ready for the next phase of construction.

The site is well on track to move into foundation work in the weeks ahead. Excavation work will continue to prepare the site for foundation construction.
Foundations
Following excavation, foundation work is expected to get underway, building on the piling already completed for Units 6, 7, 8, and 9.
